Restrictions:

Restricted to specialist use in accordance with regional protocol [NHS network access required] for the indications below:

Metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC):

  • Use in adult men in whom chemotherapy is not yet clinically indicated after failure of androgen deprivation therapy.
  • Use in adult men who have received only one prior chemotherapy regimen.
  • With prednisone or prednisolone for the treatment of newly diagnosed high-risk metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer in adult men in combination with androgen deprivation therapy. 

Non-metastatic prostate cancer:

  • Use of abiraterone acetate plus prednisolone in combination with androgen deprivation therapy for the treatment of high-risk hormone-sensitive non-metastatic prostate cancer (off label indication as approved by NCMAG).

Metastatic prostate cancer:

  • Abiraterone acetate plus prednisolone in combination with androgen deprivation therapy for the treatment for newly diagnosed low-risk metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer patients who are not suitable for currently accessible on-label alternatives (off label indication as approved by NCMAG).
