Key Medicine Shortages – February 2022

Monthly Update

Dulaglutide (Trulicity®) solution for injection in a pre-filled pen – there is an anticipated short-term disruption to the supply of 3mg and 4.5mg doses, which should resolve in April 2022.

Other doses of dulaglutide (Trulicity®) solution for injection in a pre-filled pen, 0.75mg and 1.5mg, are unaffected by the supply disruption and remain available.

Why do medicine shortages occur?
Medicine shortages occur for a variety of reasons, including difficulties sourcing raw materials, product recalls for safety reasons, changes to licence holder, and changes to pack sizes.
It is vitally important that medicine shortages are monitored and appropriate actions taken, to minimise impact on patient care.
