Hypovase® (prazosin) 500microgram tablets – there is currently a recognised supply problem and there has been no Scottish Government advice published to date.
A Department of Health Supply Disruption alert (SDA) is available for advice on the supply problem, and a link to this can be found within the NHSGGC Central Prescribing Memorandum on StaffNet. Please note some information in the SDA may be applicable to NHS England only.

Why do medicine shortages occur?
Medicine shortages occur for a variety of reasons, including difficulties sourcing raw materials, product recalls for safety reasons, changes to licence holder, and changes to pack sizes.
It is vitally important that medicine shortages are monitored and appropriate actions taken, to minimise impact on patient care.
