Therapeutics Handbook Update April 2019
The Adult Therapeutics Handbook content has now been updated and includes the following main changes:
New guideline – Myasthenia Gravis (MG) in Acute Care
This guideline provides information on MG medicines as well as important points to consider when: prescribing other medicines, managing patients who are nil by mouth, have an infection or are undergoing surgical procedures. Further information on medicines that may affect patients with MG can be found on StaffNet here.
Respiratory system
The following guidelines have been updated in this section:
- The Management of Acute Severe Asthma in Adults in A&E - it aligns with SIGN 153 with some amendments to reflect local guidance.
- The Management of Pneumothorax
- Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD).
