- The Competition and Market Authority (CMA) has launched an investigation into the planned withdrawal of Priadel tablets by Essential Pharma
- Whilst this investigation is ongoing any switch to an alternative lithium preparation is being put on hold
- In the meantime, patients should continue to be prescribed their current brand of lithium carbonate
- Patients who are to be initiated on lithium carbonate tablets should be prescribed Priadel as set out in the Good Practice Standards- Safe Lithium Treatment
