Adult Therapeutics Handbook: Content update May 2017

The Therapeutics Handbook content has been updated and includes the following main changes:

Resuscitation and Anaphylaxis section:
The Management of Major Haemorrhage guideline has been updated to reflect current practices and procedures in the management of massive haemorrhage which includes change of packs provided and site specific information, particularly for those with no overnight laboratory presence.

Pain, Post operative Nausea and Vomiting and Palliative Care Symptoms section:
The Palliative Care - Last days of life has been updated to highlight and promote NHSGGC Guidance At End of Life (GAEL guidance - on StaffNet).

Other minor updates have also been made and users are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the sections and guidelines relevant to their area of practice.
